Dr Matthew Megens

Neurologist, Neurophysiologist

BSc, MD, FRACP

Dr Matthew Megens is a consultant neurologist with subspecialty training in clinical neurophysiology and neuroimmunology. He currently holds an appointment at the Austin Hospital as the Movement Disorders fellow.

 

Matt grew up in regional Victoria before completing his medical degree at the University of Melbourne and maintains a strong interest in rural and regional health. He went on to undertake specialist training in neurology at the Alfred Hospital and the Launceston General Hospital, prior to subspecialty training in clinical neurophysiology and neuroimmunology at the Austin Hospital. He has undertaken research in the areas of stroke, myasthenia gravis and autoimmune encephalitis.

 

Matt performs nerve conduction studies and electromyography at the Neuro Group on a weekly- to fortnightly basis.
